About Me

Ruthie Swedlund is a multi-disciplinary visual artist based in Abilene, Texas.  She is known for creating vibrant, textured multimedia works on canvas that balance precise linework with energetic color.

Her creative practice centers heavily around themes of strength, resilience, and identity, often using abstraction, dynamic figures,  surreal portraiture and botanical motifs to explore deep emotional landscapes. Deeply invested in the connection between physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, her process prioritizes finding peace and joy through the act of creating.

She views art as more than the final result itself, but as a transformative space to foster healing and build personal confidence. Ruthie’s work has been featured in local and national juried exhibitions and is held in public and private collections.

Her clients span both local and national markets, including corporate and private collectors throughout Texas and beyond. As an Artist Member of the Center for Contemporary Arts in Abilene, Ruthie remains actively engaged in the local creative community. Ruthie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Abilene Christian University. Her work reflects her artistic vision and design background, reaching a diverse audience through exhibitions, commissions, and sales to clients both in and outside of Texas.
